BEFORE YOU FILL IT OUT
The questions people ask first.
Will driving a truck get me declined or rated up?
Not for driving. Every carrier Blake places business with writes truck drivers, so your CDL is not the thing being judged. What moves the number is the ordinary stuff: your age, your health, and whether you use tobacco. Underwriting still applies, so nobody can promise you an approval, but you will not be turned away simply for being behind the wheel.
What are living benefits, and do I get them?
Living benefits, often called accelerated benefit riders, let you draw on part of your own coverage while you are still alive if you are diagnosed with a qualifying terminal, chronic, or critical illness. For a driver that is the difference between a diagnosis being a health problem and a diagnosis being a health problem plus a mortgage problem. Most plans Blake writes include them. What qualifies, and how much you can access, varies by carrier and rider, and money taken early reduces what your family receives later, so ask him to show you the terms on yours.
Can Blake work around my hours?
Yes, and you do not have to be parked. The whole thing is done over the phone, so on a headset you never take your eyes off the road. No office visit, no appointment to keep, and no paperwork to get started. Tell him the hours you are rolling and he will call then.
Is the coverage I have through the company enough?
It is usually thinner than drivers assume. Group coverage through a motor carrier is normally term insurance with no cash value building underneath it, and on some policies the company is the beneficiary rather than your family. It also ends when the job does. Even where you are allowed to take it with you, the price generally jumps once you are the one paying for it. A policy you own has none of those problems: it follows you through a job change, a lease purchase, or going out on your own authority.
Is the quote really free?
Yes. There is no fee for the quote or for Blake's help. Independent brokers are paid by the insurance company only if you decide to take a policy, so comparing your options costs you nothing either way.
What actually happens after I hit submit?
Blake looks over your answers, pulls quotes that fit them, and calls you from (228) 357-8505 within one business day. That is it. No drip of calls from strangers, and nothing is bought or signed on that call.
Am I committing to anything by filling this out?
No. The form starts a conversation and nothing more. You are not applying, not signing, and not obligated to buy. Plenty of people go through it, see the numbers, and decide the timing is not right.
What if my health is not perfect?
That is exactly why it is worth talking to a broker. Carriers judge the same condition very differently, and Blake works with many of them, so the job is finding the ones that treat your history kindly rather than taking the first answer.
Still wondering something? Call Blake at (228) 357-8505. He would rather answer it now than have you guess.
Ready to see your numbers?
It is four short screens and about two minutes. You will know what this actually costs for someone your age, in your state, with your health, instead of guessing at it.
